Greetings from Amsterdam,

Spring is in the air here in the Netherlands… along with sleet, hail, wind, rain, sunshine and occasional snow flurries. Seriously, if you don’t like the weather just wait 10 minutes and something different will be experienced. One thing is sure; the flower fields have plenty of moisture for the tulips, hyacinths and daffodils to pop up within the next month or so. With some warmer days and sunshine all will be blooming soon.

Thank you for praying along with me at this time for the following highlighted areas of ministry and life:

Amsterdam50

During 2016 we will be moving to a new location for our Sunday gathering. Please pray for the Lord’s timing of the transition as well as clear and productive conversations with our current landlord regarding the rental contract. In addition, pray for our Pastors Chris and Corey and the Leadership Team – for wisdom, strong leadership and unity.

Women’s Ministry

The Lord has been growing the small group Community I’m leading and has provided inspiration as we’ve been using the Discovery Bible Study technique to explore God’s Word and apply it to our lives. I’d appreciate prayer for wisdom and guidance as I’m multiplying my life into others.

Pray for each heart (Nancy, Renske, Nathalie, Jasmine, Imelda, Samantha) to be open to living out these truths and specifically for Selma, that her heart would be softened through the Holy Spirit to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior. In addition, please pray for Selma’s health and upcoming pacemaker surgery.

Prayers of salvation are appreciated for other women I’m reaching out to: Jenny, Fiona and Nicola.

Furlough

I’ve begun planning for my 2016 furlough to reconnect with family in the States and to work on support raising. It’s amazing how quickly 2 years passes between these home service leaves! And, honestly, it’s daunting and often overwhelming to plan my travel schedule in order to visit churches and individuals in 6 to 7 states across America.

Over the next 5 months I’ll be working on all the details for speaking engagements, flights, transportation and lodging. Please pray for the Lord’s direction regarding where to travel and the timing for speaking with individuals and churches as well as provision of borrowed or rented automobiles. In addition, please pray for His provision of support ($750/month).

During the 10 -12 weeks I’ll be support raising (August – October), I hope to cross paths with as many as possible. It’s always a joy and inspiration to meet with you face to face. If you have an idea for a dinner or dessert evening where others could be invited that would be delightful! In addition, if you know of friends or churches, or if you’re a part of a bible study or small group, who would be interested in hearing about ways to partner in the gospel through Reliant mission for the work I’m doing in Amsterdam, please contact me to arrange a visit. I’m beginning to fill up my calendar now.

Personal

Over the past year I’ve been dealing some injuries (left foot/toe, right wrist). Thankfully, since December the toe seems to be healing after 3 months of special toe taping & wearing “stiff soled shoes” (try saying that 3 times quickly) ☺. And, I’ve been seeking help from a Hand Therapist and have seen progress with the wrist pain. Lately I’ve begun to have hip pain, similar to what I experienced in the late 90’s. Please pray for complete healing of my body. Thank you!

Also, please pray for my cat, Rama, who is recovering from what appears to be a food allergy. My hope and prayer is that he is stable by the time I leave on furlough and that both he and Akela will be healthy while I’m gone.

Thankful to be united with you in prayer,
Linda
