April-May Ministry Update

Greetings from Amsterdam,

The week after Easter our Great Commission Ministries Netherlands team joined the other GC Europe missionaries, once again outside of Thessaloniki in Halkidiki, Greece. What fantastic time of encouragement, prayer and sharing of our lives!

I’m always so blessed to unite with this group of people each year to reignite the passion and vision of our lives being drawn closer to the true reality of Jesus Christ within us and having a life of ministry that will be focused on reaching out to others.

One day we enjoyed a boat excursion viewing the west side of Mount Athos, also known as the “Holy Mountain”. Since the first century there have been monasteries on this protected peninsula, separated from the rest of Greece. Currently there are more than 2700 monks, whom are Greek, Russian, Bulgarian, Serbian and Romanian, residing in 20 monasteries.

Spring Retreat ~ First Love: loving what God loves!

Please pray for a deeply blessed Amsterdam50 Spring Retreat (23-25 May), that we would come back to our FIRST LOVE; be refreshed in Christ; for growing passion to share our faith and live for Christ in our daily lives. We are thrilled to have Todd Watkins, former pastor of Amsterdam50 returning after 5 years, joining us for the retreat to lead us in “loving what God loves”, which means being a disciple who is making disciples.

Practical prayers: for more people to sign up (we need a minimum of 35 to cover the costs; currently only have 21), for the planning team (Diana, Hilda and me) to iron out the final details of housing, scheduling activities and communication.

Lives changed for all eternity!

Please pray for these dear ones, whom we’ve come to know and love at Amsterdam50, to surrender their lives to Christ: Aziz, Fiona, Madina, Ali, Mohammed, Nicola, Joost, Parmilla, Jenny, Nasrin, Hasam, and Frauke.

Kenya ~ 2014 Amsterdam50 mission trip

Please pray for wisdom and guidance as I meet with interested individuals for team formation and the development of plans for a mission trip in late December. Our heart at Amsterdam50 is to continue growing the relationship between our church and the beautiful 30 orphans and staff team in Karai, Kenya, through assisting with the kid’s spiritual development, language acquisition and providing funds for their educational needs.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

May the Lord bless you in abundance,
