December Ministry Update 2010

Greetings from Amsterdam,

The year has flown by and here we are counting down the days until 2011. This is the first time since I’ve lived here that we’ve had so much snow in early winter. It looks beautiful, but does make biking around a bit tricky.

Year End Prayer Points:

  • Servant Leadership Council — please pray for wisdom, unity and clarity. We’re seeking God’s guidance for the vision formation process in order to most effectively lead this unique group of Believers here in Amsterdam to Know Jesus, Become Like Jesus and Making Him Known. Please pray for each member of the council: Eric, Bob, Marcus, Sokol, Michaël, Mirjam, Eva, Patricia, and me (Linda).
  • Kenya Mission Trip — I’ll be co-leading a small team of people from Amsterdam50 on a trip to Kenya in late March 2011. Please pray for continued direction as well as the orphans we’ll be ministering to, for our team’s unity, and for preparations in order to provide effective English learning through songs, stories, skits and other creativity.
  • Additional Financial Support — due to some lapsed support, plus what I wasn’t able to raise while on furlough I now need to raise $1500 in monthly support. Please pray for God’s provision.
  • Winter Edition of Serve the City — Please pray for God’s love to shine brightly through our serving, giving and acts of kindness. And, pray with us for the Spirit of Christmas to be mightily at work December 21st and January 8th.
  • Please pray that during this Advent Season at Amsterdam50 as we examine Jesus in the gospel accounts the power of His life will stir in our hearts and help us to embrace His miraculous truths. This fast paced look from the perspective of the four gospel writers has been eye-opening and powerful. He is Emmanuel —God with us!

Answered Prayers

  • Akela’s health — thanks for praying for my cat. He has responded well to the steroid treatment these past few weeks. Over time we hope to find the correct maintenance program to keep the Auto Immune Disease under control.
  • Serve the City — so far we have 45 projects and will have nearly 190 volunteers involved with the Winter Edition.

During this blessed season of the year may your hearts be filled with the hope, peace, joy and love of Jesus, especially as we celebrate his birth. Merry Christmas from my heart to yours.

Thank you for your prayers throughout the year. And, to my ministry partners, I am extremely touched by your generous giving over the years to Great Commission Ministries and the work I’m doing in Amsterdam. THANK YOU!

What a gift to be serving Him together to grow His Kingdom.

With gratefulness and love,
