February Ministry Update

Greetings from Amsterdam,

Recently there was a big transition from East Amsterdam to West when the refugees were moved to a new facility. Our team prayer walked around the location asking for blessings over the 500 people who will live at new Asylum Seekers [zoekers] Center (AZC), known to them as a “camp”. We continue our prayer that the Lord would soften many hearts to the gospel message and open up opportunities for us to cross paths with persons and households of peace.

  • Pray with us that we’ll meet more refugees who will openly receive stories of hope from the Bible.
  • Please pray for the refugees who continue to wait for the Immigration Department’s answer to their hope for residency here in the Netherlands. Many are frustrated, fearful, depressed & disappointed in the long process.

Short Term Mission team

During the first week of March (3-11), we’ll be hosting four men from Ball State University in Muncie, IN, who excitedly join us on mission to reach out to the refugees with the love of Jesus. We are grateful for them serving with us.

  • Pray for safety during their travels and while riding bikes around Amsterdam
  • Prayers for special and meaningful reconnections and reunions with the refugees whom they met last year
  • Trusting the Lord to open doors to meet new people through the team’s presence and focus

20 year Reflection ~ February 1998

So many faithful partners have united with me to see God grow His Kingdom here on earth. How this partnership affects those who give on a regular basis will be highlighted through a couple that 20 years ago this month began to financially support this ministry. I’m deeply grateful for all those who have prayed for and supported this work over the past 2 decades. I couldn’t have done this without you.

From J. Seeber:

Linda has been a blessing to our family in so many ways through our ministry partnership over the last 20 years. Linda’s faithful updates and memorable visits while she is on furlough remind us of the meaningful work she is part of abroad. We get to see and hear first hand who she is involved with, how we can pray for them, and the impact of her life from the time she has invested in multiple ministries. The currency of her life could be measured in changed lives via people who would never have known Jesus that get a personal introduction from Linda and a mentor to guide them into a lifetime relationship with Christ. Her contributions with children in Kenya and with refugees are especially inspiring. It yields insight into the condition of the world and the significant need for the advancement of the gospel. Although we can’t be there with her, and we have yet to go on a mission trip, this partnership causes us to feel connected with the work God is doing on her mission field. Her ministry with people of many cultures, backgrounds and languages reminds us of the Great Commission to "go and make disciples of all the nations.” Connecting with her reminds us that we can pursue gospel opportunities in everyday situations in our lives too. Linda continues to minster to us with her gifting, and it is a joy to support her ministry with Reliant.

United with you for God’s Glory,
Linda
