February-March Ministry Update 2011

Greetings from Amsterdam,

In this month’s update you’ll be presented with different types of ministry prayer requests. I am extremely blessed to have hundreds and hundreds of prayer warriors out there to join with me in prayer. I’m trusting God, together with you, to be drawing people nearer to Himself.

Prayer points and ministry happenings:

  • Berlin, Germany — Listening Seminar, Feb 18-20. (For those on my email list I know you’ve already been praying) This was a wonderful experience for me, my colleague Patricia and the 10 people at Rock Berlin who went through the course. It was a blessing to be able to share these life-giving materials and see an enthusiastic response. Please pray that God would help those who attended the seminar to regularly use reflective listening in their lives to create healthy relationships. Attendees: Stephi, Christina, Nina, Dave, Nenad, Toby, Maggie, Michi, Lucy and Dieter

  • Twello, Netherlands — Church-wide retreat , March 11-13. We invited our entire church to participate in a spiritual retreat in the beautiful forested region of east-central Holland. There will be 65 of us seeking God's rest, refreshment, encouragement, inspiration, and renewed vision for the future. And we're going to create an extended opportunity to soak in God's goodness and the fellowship of other people from our church family. Please help in laying a foundation of prayer for God to work in these ways for unity, vision, greater faith and a deeper passion for Christ.
  • Amsterdam, Netherlands — Since early February there has been a weekly Alpha Course taking place in our ministry center. Amsterdam50 and 3 other churches in the city have embraced a cooperative effort to share with people the foundational principles of the Christian faith through Alpha. Please pray with me for the following individuals over the next 6 weeks (course ends on April 20), Jolanda, Suzanne, Niels, Kay (pronounced Ki), Marco, Heather, Gugi, Wo, Olaf, Nicole and her husband Michel -- that God's Spirit would be at work in their inner beings, that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith, that they would become true followers of Jesus.
  • Karai, Kenya — in late March I am blessed to be a part of what will be our church’s first official Mission Trip. We embark on this wonderful journey on March 25th and will be returning on April 10th. Over the past 9 months much planning, preparation, prayer and fundraising has taken place. There will be 5 of us going to serve 30 orphans and the staff at a safe house near Naivasha along the Rift Valley in West Central Kenya. Please pray for safety for the team: Avantia, Claire, Naomi, Patricia and Linda.

Also , join with us in prayer for our team’s connection with the orphans through English language learning, fun activities, teaching them new songs and games. We hope for an inspiring time and overall encouragement for the children (ages 8-18) and the safe house staff.

I look forward to see how God answers these prayers. Thanks for everything you do to keep me engaged with ministry here in Amsterdam. I deeply appreciate your support.

In Him alone,
