July/August Ministry Update

Greetings from Amsterdam,

For more than 15 years I’ve been on staff with Great Commission Ministries (GCM) as an employee. But it’s been a total of 25 years in overall ministry with GCM, which began in August 1988 with Abundant Life Campus Church (now known as the Revolution) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. I praise the Lord for all He has done through the many ministry partners over the years! Your prayers and financial support have been invaluable to the work God has called me to ~ Thank You!

A look back:

1988-1995 I volunteered on staff with the GCM team at Ball State University, while in Graduate School and then 5 years of serving as faculty advisor for our student ministry as a part of the ministry’s leadership team.
1995 – 1998 GCM church-plant in Orlando, Florida, where I volunteered while working with families and youth.
1998 – 2003On staff with GCM working in High School ministry in Orlando, Florida
2003 – PresentOn staff as an International missionary with the GCM church-plant in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Over the years I’ve been involved in a variety of aspects of ministry from leading small groups, singing with worship bands, leading short term mission teams, discipling young believers, serving behind the scenes, sharing God’s truth through His Word and much more all the while crossing paths with hundreds of like-minded followers of Christ together reaching out and sharing Jesus’ love and message of grace and forgiveness with people of all ages.

A friend whom I met in Amsterdam shared the beauty of many different God connections she’s made all over the world even with people to whom she couldn’t even speak the same language. And yet the Lord allowed a supernatural experience of His love shared between believers in Jesus. I cannot agree more… whether it’s with people from all over the United States of America, or in many parts of Europe or on the African continent in Kenya, I too have been reminded of the greatness of God’s plan for my life through the interaction with others while sharing God’s love and truth.

Thanks to all I’ve shared this journey with over the years! I rejoice in what God has done and is continuing to do.

Over the past year and a half while serving as a supervisor to our missionary team in Amsterdam there have been an abundance of transitions involving missionaries with Great Commission Ministries Netherlands (GCM-NL), including a family moving back to the US, colleagues getting married or moving on to other ministries or volunteer work, as well as a new couple who joined our team. With all these changes the few of us who remain are in a sort of “holding pattern” not knowing what the future holds but all the while hopeful and expectant in how the Lord continues to lead us forward in being disciples who are making disciples.

Please pray that we remain effective in living out who God has called us to be as His followers and in growing His Kingdom.

Special Notice: GCM Address Change!

GCM in Orlando has moved its offices to a new larger facility and the mailing address for your gift has changed!

Old address:P.O. Box 7101 Winter Park, FL 32793
As of August 1:11002 Lake Hart Drive, Ste 100 Orlando, FL 32832

GCM will automatically change the address on its giving envelope when you receive the receipt, but please double check! We wouldn't want a gift to go missing. Your support means so much to us.

P.S. - Many of our donors use automatic LifeLink giving instead of mailing a check each month. This may be a good time to switch to LifeLink! We really do prefer it, if it works for you. It's secure and it makes sure the ministry funds are never accidentally interrupted. Visit: www.mygcm.org/linda.kitchen.

May God bless you in whatever season of life you’re experiencing,
Linda
