September Ministry Update

Greetings from Amsterdam,

Would you like to learn powerful tools to break out of habitual mental, emotional, and behavior patterns that rob you of joy and spiritual impact? Are you yearning for practical skills that will allow you to experience the reality of Romans 12:2 in your life, relationships, and ministry?

People at Amsterdam50 have been invited to join Renewing the Mind, an experiential workshop being led by my colleague, Patricia, and I on September 21st-23rd. We will be providing the seminar for 22 students who have come to Amsterdam from all over the world as a part of a six-month Foundation in Counseling Ministries school with YWAM. In addition, a few from our church will be joining the 3-day seminar.

Our goal is to teach how to practically live out Paul’s words in Romans through cooperating with God’s renewing work by replacing wrong belief systems with truth. The materials were developed by Equipping Ministries International, Inc. and provide freeing thought processes for the participants to use in both life and ministry.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:2

Please pray for clear presentation and effective teaching from Patricia and me, good guidance and care from the small group facilitators (YWAM staff and myself) as well as a life-giving and powerful experience for the students.

Facilitators: Chinomso, Annette, Anna, Stefanie, Dachung, Zefanya, Christiane, Jessica, Sherry and Linda
Students: Ashley, Diane, Ina, Lucky, Anastasia, Stacey, Bimila, Ribka, Alicia, Yasmine, Michael, Heather, Michael, Vitaly, Liesbeth, William, Accacia, Szilvia, Alice, Rosemary, Jo Rinna, Daniel, Emily and Jasmine

Follow up on Rony in Kenya

Last month you prayed for my friend Rony as he moved back to Kenya. Here is a note from him:

Praise be to God! Thank God for listening to our prayer. I had a safe journey back home. Upon arrival I checked in at a Christian guesthouse and the next day was able to meet missionaries working in Africa, which was a blessing. We had a great conversation and I got tips on how to start assimilating back in to the system here in Kenya. I also met another person who helped me secure an apartment near the city. The security is very good at this place, which is extremely important here. I am so thankful to have a place to call home after living as a refugee for eight years.

Rony requests the following prayers:

  • for strength and peace of mind to go through this transition period embracing the reality of being back in Kenya.
  • wisdom and understanding for integration back in to the system here, especially due to the chaotic life in an overcrowded city (Nairobi) where life is tense and very disorganized.
  • patience while settling down and getting used to life in Kenya again.

Thank you for your prayers and support. It’s such a blessing to partner with you in God’s Kingdom work!

The Lord bless you,
